Spicy Orangerita

Time to bust out the margarita glasses and serve up this spicy cocktail. Whether pairing with Mexican food or simply enjoying on a warm summer day, this cocktail is a great way to cool off while waking up your taste buds. The recipe serves 2, maybe 3 if using smaller margarita glasses. If scaling up the recipe I wouldn’t add too much more of the jalapeño unless you really want to kick up the spice.

Ingredients :

1 oz Cointreau

3 oz tequila (I used Corazon Single Estate Blanco Tequila)

2 slices of jalapeño (about 1/4 inch wide)

6 slices of cucumber (about 1/4 inch wide)

15 mint leaves

25 cilantro leaves

2 oz agave syrup

3 oz orange juice

ice

Directions :

In a small pitcher, muddle the jalapeño, cucumber, mint and cilantro. Add one cup of ice and the rest of the ingredients and stir very well. Fill 2 large margarita glasses with Ice. Strain the cocktail mixture and pour into the glasses. Garnish and serve.
